- The suite was huge and open and there was a large bar set up directly in front of them with 10 or so stools positioned at the counter. Beyond that the large windows gave an impressive view of the city below and there was a considerable deck that a few people were strolling around on outside. In the large open room inside the windows were a half dozen couches and a few loveseats, many of which were occupied by 2-5 people. Behind the bar and to the back of the large room the suite stretched beyond Jim and Sharon's view and likely contained a series of bedrooms and bathrooms.
- Jim and Sharon made a direct line to the bar, sitting next to each other on a couple of stools. There was music playing somewhere inside the suite, but it was not pervasive or obnoxious and did a good job at setting the ambiance appropriately. Jim smiled, catching Sharon's gaze as they both eased into the familiarity of a bar and appreciated there wasn't a raucous display greeting them as soon as they'd arrived. It may have had something to do with the time, as it was barely past 9pm. Jim ordered a Manhattan and Sharon a Sangria and they sat silently sipping their drinks, hoping the alcohol would calm their nerves.
- After about 10 minutes the sound of clinking glass drew their attention to behind them, where a man in his early 40's and a woman in her mid-30's stood smiling. When it seemed everyone in sight had turned to face him, the man began to speak.
